Have you heard of Stitch Fix? It is the best everrr. But seriously. Have you ever tried a dressing room with you, your pile of potential new clothes, and 3 darling, sticky fingered (from the snacks that have been preciously saved for that very moment in the store), over tired, and yet still full of so much energy angels before? Me neither. I’ve tried that circus with two loves, and haven’t ever begun to consider it with 3. In this new phase of life, Stitch Fix has been such a fun blessing. They deliver 5 pieces for you to try on for $20, and you get to use that $20 towards any item in that box you choose to keep. If you want to try it out, please feel so free to use my referral link – it will give me a $25 credit 😉 (:
This is the first shirt I kept. It’s so soft, flowy, and flattering. I even loved it so much to ask for it in another color! These styling cards accompany every order, giving suggestions for how to wear your new piece.
Clothes are fun to buy and wear. But are surely not what should consume our thoughts and time. The gospel of Jesus Christ is what I want to consume my thoughts and time. Here are some of Jesus’s words from His sermon on the mount, found in the book of Matthew. He speaks about being anxious over food and clothes; he knew it was something that we’d struggle with…
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?[a] 28 And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, 29 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
34 “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
These pictures are fun to share, but just that. I pray these words of the Christ take root in your heart today!
